FAQ
  • What do I need to consider before I proceed with a fencing job?

In order for you to do a fencing job, you must decide what type of fencing you would like to proceed with.  What the length of the fencing will be and then if any gates are needed. If you do not have an existing fence  you may choose to have the  property surveyed. For an easier/smoother road ahead, we would request that you have a drawn map or scale of the property before we come and give you an estimated cost.

By Law what is the highest I can have my fence?

Any Tubular/Boundary fence above 2100mm requires council approval, before going ahead with a job.

  • What is the difference between Good Neighbour & Post and Rail?

“Post and Rail” style is where one neighbour see’s the sheeting and the other side has the steel posts and rails visible.  The side of the Posts/Sheets is generally determined by the way the old fencing was, unless there is an arrangement between neighbours.
“Good Neighbour” style is where the fencing has no exposed Galvanised Posts and rails and looks the same on both sides.

  • What is the difference between Colorbond and Imported?

Registered Colorbond sheets are made from Bluescope steel and have a 10 year warranty.  For the Warranty terms and conditions please log on to: www.bluescopesteel.com.au/warranties
Imported sheeting is made from Steel imported from Overseas.  The sheeting is not backed by the strength and integrity of Australia’s Bluescope Steel and has no warranty on the sheeting.

  • Do you do free Quotes?

Yes we do free measure and quotes.  We can either meet the client out on site or arrange to call there without you being there.

  • Do you need to see the site?

No not always. If the block is level and clear we can quote based on “Site Unseen”.  It would be an indicative price, until the client has decided to go with Axon Fencing.  We would then visit the site to double check all measurements are correct and we have charged accordingly.

  • What is a “Concrete Plinth”? And how do I know if I need one?

Plinths are a strip of concrete that is built under a fence.  This is ideal if the fence level differs between the neighbour and your side and you are planning to build a garden bed.
